Our Story
Born from lived experience
& design expertise
RoomWell was created by Nicole Malagodi Pope after spending nearly three months within the maternal and neonatal hospital care system during a complicated twin pregnancy.
As a designer with a master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Nicole has long been interested in thoughtfully designed environments and how they influence human experience, particularly within compact spaces. That academic interest became deeply personal during her own hospitalization and NICU experience with her daughter, Juniper.
Small environmental interventions such as soft lighting, familiar textures, organizational tools, calming routines, comforting scents and sensory regulation items became important anchors during an uncertain experience.
RoomWell was born from the intersection of professional design expertise, healthcare environmental research and lived maternal experience: to help hospital spaces feel more grounding for women and families navigating medical care.
Our Philosophy
Grounded in evidence-based healthcare principles
Informed by evidence-based healthcare principles, RoomWell Comfort is focused on improving hospital experiences for women. We seek to contribute to broader conversations surrounding how healthcare environments affect patient wellbeing through:
- hospital comfort kit programs
- nonprofit initiatives / partnerships
- maternal wellness advocacy
- research / healthcare design collaborations
Our company is grounded in the belief that physical environments directly shape stress levels, perceived safety, cognition, autonomy, and wellbeing.
